Dulux introduces their 2021 Colour Forecast
The soothing shades that encourage ‘connection through colour.’
Colour authority, Dulux, has released their 2021 colour forecast this week, announcing three nurturing palettes that will “reflect our desire for reassurance and strength”. The iconic colour forecast introduces three nurturing palettes that evoke familiarity and comfort: Retreat, Nourish and Reset.
The forecast comprises of three soothing palettes, inspired by nature along with pops of accent colour to lighten the mood and brighten assist in brightening our outlook. “Surrounding colour can be a remedy for the soul in challenging times,” says Andrea. “This year’s soft, earthy neutrals, muted greens and gentle mauve-greys provide a reassuring connection with nature, whilst richer and brighter hues, such as coral and stormy blue awaken our senses and allow for moments of optimism.”
“The global pandemic has changed our relationship with our homes – not just on a practical level, the lines between our work and home have blurred beyond recognition. This also affects us on an emotional level,” says Andrea Lucena-Orr, Dulux’s colour and communications manager. “We need flexible spaces that can multi-task as spaces to conduct our professional lives and perform household tasks, however, at the same time we need our homes to provide balance, calm and a sense of comfort and security.”
Retreat Colour Palette
Stormy blues and soft greys connect a verdant Mangrove green and earthy burgundy in Burnished Bark.
Nourish Colour Palette
Warm neutrals and accents of yellow and green inspire a desire for plants and blooms.
Reset Colour Palette
Uplifting hues of blue-green and energetic reds offset refreshing whites and neutrals.
